PROJECTS

Project Passerelle

Despite Scotland and France being home to two of the world’s most celebrated performing arts festivals, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Festival d’Avignon, no formal professional development programmes have ever connected their theatre communities. Project Passerelle proposes to fill that gap.

Funded by Creative Scotland and developed by Edinburgh-based and French-born artist and producer Marion Geoffray in partnership with the Institut Français d’Écosse, Project Passerelle is a pilot delegation programme bringing together Scottish and French theatre professionals, artists, producers and programmers for five days of structured exchange, discovery and
connection in Avignon.

From 11-15 July 2026, our programme will include:
→ Workshops and panel discussions at Le Village du OFF, the festival’s professional hub
→ Curated shows
→ Structured networking with French producers, programmers and international artists
→ Guest attendance at the International event hosted by Le Village du OFF
→ Daily facilitated group reflection sessions

Our initial Scottish delegation is composed of 4 freelance artists based in Scotland:

We will also be joined by Fleur Palazzeschi (cultural officer of Institut Francais d’Ecosse) who will bring 3 Fringe programmers to complete our delegation.
